Unwanted Pregnancy

QUESTION: What are some options for an unwanted pregnancy?

ANSWER:

If you find yourself in an unwanted pregnancy, what are your options?
  • One is to keep the baby. If you are ready to face the responsibilities and demands that come with being a parent, keeping the baby is sometimes the best option. Many courageous mothers have made this commitment and have done a tremendous job providing love and care for their babies. An important element to ensure success is to have a number of people around who will support you in your new role. This strong support system provides security for both the mother and the baby.

  • Another equally courageous choice is to give the baby up for adoption. There are thousands of loving, God-fearing couples longing to adopt a baby. They have the resources and the emotional and spiritual stability to raise a child. These potential parents always appreciate the sacrifice a birth mother makes when she gives up her baby for adoption. This is a great option for the mother who isn’t ready for the responsibility of parenting and who realizes the value a loving, adoptive home can offer her baby. There are reputable agencies that handle these adoptions and do it with the baby’s best interest in mind. Consider contacting www.Bethany.org.

    Unwanted Pregnancy – The Decision
If you are dealing with an unwanted pregnancy, you have a big decision ahead of you. It will affect your entire life and we encourage you to take it seriously. Your decision will affect your life, the life growing inside of you, and also your family.

Knowledge is key, and the first thing to know is that life begins at conception. Many desperate mothers turn to abortion as a solution, but find it is not a solution, after all. The Bible clearly states that God has a plan for the baby from the moment the baby is conceived.

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous -- and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:13-16).

When we choose abortion, we are short-circuiting God’s plan.

What do you think?
We have all sinned and deserve God’s judgment. God, the Father, sent His only Son to satisfy that judgment for those who believe in Him. Jesus, the creator and eternal Son of God, who lived a sinless life, loves us so much that He died for our sins, taking the punishment that we deserve, was buried, and rose from the dead according to the Bible. If you truly believe and trust this in your heart, receiving Jesus alone as your Savior, declaring, "Jesus is Lord," you will be saved from judgment and spend eternity with God in heaven.

What is your response?

Yes, I want to follow Jesus

I am a follower of Jesus

I still have questions
